After completing my training as a jeweler in 1987, I pursued a degree in gemology, specializing in the study of cut gemstones.
During my research, I used a microscope to discover artistic traces that nature left behind millions of years ago within the interior of gemstones.
The more closely I examine gemstones under a microscope, the more I marvel at their beauty and diversity. Time and again, I discover new vistas and am fascinated by the dazzling colors and shapes at the microscopic level. I’d love to take you on a journey into the inner world of gemstones!
Microphotography
Microphotography is all about mastering the technique. Because we’re dealing with enormous magnification factors here, every turn of the knob takes you “kilometers further” into that tiny world.
It takes years of practice and hands-on experience to master the equipment to the point where you can do whatever you want with it and purposefully search for that magnificent beauty hidden within the small.
