Selwyn Senatori

Selwyn Senatori was born in Pallanza, Italy. He graduated from the Utrecht School of the Arts, where he majored in illustrative design. This program teaches you to create images by giving shape to concepts using the appropriate materials. In addition, the program helps you develop versatility.

And that has definitely worked to his advantage. Selwyn Senatori began his career illustrating children’s books for the publisher Lemniscaat. He was also nominated by the Art Directors Club Netherlands [adcn] as an up-and-coming illustrator, which automatically earned him a spot in the advertising yearbook. In addition to being an illustrator for Art-Box, Selwyn Senatori is also a painter.

Thanks to his diverse range of commissions, Selwyn Senatori’s work is highly versatile. He uses a variety of materials and techniques. While he prefers acrylic paint, he actually uses everything from chalk, pencils, and markers to spray cans. Anyone who views the artist’s work can clearly see that he draws on his Italian roots in his art. The Selwyn Senatori signature. It represents everything the artist loves: his childhood in Italy, long family dinners, good food, the nostalgia of the 1960s, and life in his city—Amsterdam.
