How does renting art from Kunstuitleen work?
You choose the artworks you love online, we bring them to your home for free and hold them up against the spot you have in mind. You decide at your ease which one looks best — and we hang that one professionally. The first month is entirely free on trial.
How does the free trial placement work?
We schedule a time that suits you and bring your selection over, anywhere in the Netherlands. We hold each artwork against your wall so you can see, in your own light and interior, which one looks best. Like one? We hang it. The rest we take back — at no cost.
Can I try several artworks at home at once?
Absolutely, and we even recommend it. You can take up to 5 artworks per spot — not to hang 5 (you may), but to have some choice at home. Already sure? Then just pick one. But we’re driving over anyway, so we’d rather bring a few extra options, so there’s a bigger chance of a winner than you ending up with nothing to choose from. Want to fill two rooms? Then you can pick up to 10.
What does it cost to rent an artwork?
Each artwork has a fixed monthly amount, shown with the artwork. The first month is entirely free on trial, so you try it at no cost.
Do I build up anything if I want to buy the artwork later?
Yes. Half of your monthly amount is automatically saved as credit. You can use it to buy the artwork, or give it away as a gift card.
Can I buy an artwork?
Yes, you can buy any artwork. The credit you’ve built up — half of the rent you paid — is deducted from the purchase price.
Can I cancel or swap artworks?
The rental period is six months. After that it’s cancellable monthly, and you can swap for something new for free — or simply keep it as long as you like.
Do you deliver for free in my town too?
Yes. We deliver and hang for free throughout the Netherlands — whatever city or village you live in, with no call-out costs.

Yes. We deliver anywhere in the Netherlands, for free and with no call-out costs. And we hang your chosen artwork professionally: we drill the hole, fit the plug and hook, and get it straight and at the right height. We bring all the tools.
How soon will the art be at my home?
After your request we’ll call you soon for an appointment, at a time that suits you. Then we bring your selection over.
Is it for individuals, businesses, or both?
Both. Above the sofa at home or on the office wall — for businesses we have a dedicated environment with rooms and colleagues who can help choose.
Do I get advice when choosing?
Yes. We’re happy to think along. At your home we hold each artwork against your wall, so you can see, in your own light and interior, which one looks best. Already unsure beforehand? Feel free to get in touch and we’ll help you on your way.
Do I need to create an account?
No, you don’t. You can simply choose your favourites and request a free trial without an account. A free account is optional — handy if you want to keep your favourites across all your devices or choose together with your partner.
And if an artwork doesn’t suit after all?
No problem. If nothing fits, we simply take it all back — at no cost. You’re not committing to anything.
