Ruud Broersma

Rudolf Broersman is a true image-maker. What began as a hobby has grown over the years into a full-time artistic career. He has refined the various disciplines he practices within photography down to the smallest details. The still lifes he creates in his studio have a vibrant and colorful atmosphere, which immediately evokes the masters of the Golden Age. His collages—which involve months of photography and image editing—tell the story of an artist who has a deep respect for every element that makes up his art.

His favorite quote by Elliott Erwitt sums up Broersman’s philosophy in a nutshell.

"Photography is an art of observation. It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them."
