Technique can be learned, but an artistic vision can only be developed on your own. By taking workshops and private lessons, I have mastered various techniques.

In my work, I try to portray what a human being is, rather than who they are. I have applied this in various ways. First through composite images and now through form. In the torso, I capture the idea that a woman has the strength to bear anything, which is reflected in the sharp lines of the back. On the front, I try to preserve sensuality; not everything has to be sharp and taut.

The torso runs like a common thread through my body of work; I keep creating them. Sometimes I take “detours” into other forms. You’ll find animal figures and the occasional abstract piece in my work, though fewer and fewer. Usually, creating a different form is a moment for me to recharge, to shift my focus for a bit. Yet I always come back to the torso—I just can’t help myself.
