Ronald Boonacker

Boonacker’s art can be described as Mediterranean. Colorful works, tropical settings, and above all, sun, sea, and beach. His work is characterized by the many color variations and the diverse shades he uses to build up his compositions. Various shades of red, yellow, and blue are used side by side, either to create contrast or to suggest depth. His landscapes can be described as composed color backdrops. The artist’s sunny disposition is reflected in his work.

Boonacker is a flamboyant personality—a true cosmopolitan. He has spent much of his life traveling and has seen nearly the entire world. Spain, Italy, Brazil, and Mexico are among his favorite destinations. His travels are therefore the source of inspiration for his painting. Through his art lectures in Rome, Florence, and Venice, he first expressed his love for art. After receiving enthusiastic responses to his work, he decided several years ago to devote himself entirely to painting. He works primarily with acrylic paint in many bright hues, occasionally interspersed with silver or gold. Following the success of his canvases, a number of his screen prints have now been released. Inspired by his travels, his works bear titles such as “Andalusia,” “Kilimanjaro,” or “Corsica,” etc.

No matter how cosmopolitan his art may be, its foundation lies in traditional Dutch still lifes and landscapes. Boonacker’s roots are unmistakably in the Netherlands!
