Quiona+ Ribes, born in Spain in 1987, is an urban artist who approaches the city as a canvas, an archive, and a stage. Her artistic roots lie in Valencia, where she began creating experimental paintings inspired by street art and the visual energy of late-twentieth-century painters. Early on, she developed her own style: intuitive, layered, and imbued with urban rhythms.
After a brief stint studying architecture in Barcelona, she resolutely chose the wall as her medium and the street as her context. Her transition to Applied Arts on the Wall and her subsequent bachelor’s degree in art history marked a fusion of practice and theory, of physical space and cultural reflection. This background gives her work a unique depth: it is not only visual but also discursive—a dialogue between the present and the past, between graffiti and classical art.
Quiona+’s body of work has evolved from impressionistic experiments to a powerful urban style centered on stencil technique. Her works are visual poems: she uses poetic language, symbolism, and contemporary references to depict social themes. Inspired by icons such as Banksy, Martin Whatson, Keith Haring, Pichiavo, Okuda, Mr. Brainwash, and Vhils, as well as classical masters like Da Vinci, El Greco, and Velázquez, she builds a bridge between street culture and art history.
What sets her work apart is the way she employs urban techniques to convey emotion, reflection, and identity. Her stencils are not slogans, but whispers—fragments of stories unfolding in public spaces. She transforms walls into vessels of meaning, into places where art and society meet.
In recent years, Quiona+ has devoted herself entirely to street art and has emerged as one of the leading female voices in the urban art landscape. Her work is not only aesthetically powerful but also socially charged: a call for awareness, for imagination, and for a reevaluation of the city as a space for expression.
Quiona+ embodies a new generation of urban artists who bring together architecture, art history, and street culture in a visual language that is both critical and poetic. Her work invites us to look and listen—to the city, to history, and to the voices that have not yet been heard there.
