Jan-Peter van Opheusden

Jan-Peter van Opheusden (1941) studied at the Academy of Industrial Design in Eindhoven, but—after working as a teacher for a time—decided to become a full-time artist in 1978.

He attracted attention with his colorful (sunny), expressive, and figurative paintings. He quickly became a much-sought-after exhibitor both at home and abroad. His subject matter is broad and often draws from everyday life. Houses, portraits, and still lifes are always rendered on canvas in his authentic, passionate style. The emotion that radiates from his work leaves no one unmoved. This is, in fact, the essence of Jan-Peter’s work. He has chosen the brush and paint to express the passion and feelings he has for life.

Jan-Peter’s work has been frequently exhibited in Dutch galleries in recent years. In addition to his great domestic fame, the same can certainly be said of his international reputation. His work has been displayed in galleries in Cologne, Würzburg, Hamburg, and Gstaad, as well as in Singapore, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. In 1999, he exhibited at the “Grand d’Arche” in Paris and at the casino in the small, tax-friendly principality of Monaco.
