Hans Nahuys

The theme of nature—water and the coast, dunes, the sky, the contrast between the fluid and the solid, breath and matter—was a recurring motif in Hans Nahuys’s work. The two sides of his perception of nature—the interplay between the ephemeral and the solid, the encounter between stillness and movement—recur throughout his entire body of work, even in his earliest period.

Nahuys had numerous exhibitions at leading museums, including the Singer Museum, the Fodor Museum, and a number of renowned galleries.

His works have been acquired by institutions such as the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, and filmmaker Kees Hin has also made a beautiful film about him.

Hans Nahuys passed away in 1992, but his art is and remains timeless.
