Arja de Wit

Arja works at Paspartoe, in studios for people with exceptional talent and a disability. They receive professional guidance and have access to all kinds of materials. They don’t feel limited in creating their art; it often just bubbles up—it’s in their heads and has to come out! As a result, their work is often captivating, versatile, and very pure. Over the years, each artist has developed their own unique, recognizable style! Paspartoe is a full-fledged art platform for these colorful artists. Paspartoe is part of a healthcare organization.

Arja creates all her work in small sections. First, she sketches with pencil on the canvas, then colors it in with special paint markers, outlines it very precisely, and the result is a vibrant work of art. Arja is one of the few artists who has mastered this technique so well. She brings all her own ideas—and sometimes commissions—to life on canvas, but she works just as easily on wood, porcelain, and glass, all with the same precision. Her favorite subjects are chickens, the sun, and flowers.
