About Hans Jochem Bakker
He draws inspiration from artists such as Salvador Dalí, Miró, and Picasso; he has incorporated elements of their southern temperament into his themes, such as a particular interest in birds, horses, and women. His subject matter is not predetermined; it emerges, so to speak, only when the brush first touches the still-blank canvas. As spontaneous as possible, honest, straight from the passionate heart of the artist. There isn’t even such a thing as a finished story.
