Rosemarijn Dissen

Nothing seems to be what we think we see at first glance; what lies behind (or in front of) the form and pattern that appears before me.

Mysterious landscapes take center stage in Rosemarijn Dissen’s paintings. The cycle of life in the vast expanse of mountains and sky, in search of the unknown. The paintings invite us to keep looking further and further. Sirius is (after the sun) the brightest star in the sky. Legend has it that the Chintamani stone (the philosopher’s stone) comes from Sirius. Rosemarijn paints using the Lascaux Sirius Primary System. This unique, balanced system is based on a holistic view of color and consists of five primary colors. Using these five colors and white, a balanced and complete color palette can be mixed. Lascaux Sirius consists of lightfast, pure pigments and age-resistant, carefully selected pure acrylates.
