Light, color, and form—hidden beauty. Wherever Jolanda is, she’s always observing, looking. She captures these images within a frame. Jolanda shoots on film and chooses to have her prints made either manually or digitally. Untouched, staying true to the source, the original. You see what I have seen.
Jolanda Swaen has been taking photographs since she was nine, when her parents gave her her first camera, a Kodak Instamatic. The photographers Jorge Lewinsky and Mayotte Magnus, from whom she took lessons, contributed to her passion for landscape photography. At Christie’s auction house in Amsterdam, she refined her technique with the technical camera. With her eye for precision, she manually retouched prints by Eva Besnyo.
