Edskea Verhoeff

EDSKEA is a digital visual artist based in Amsterdam. EDSKEA creates digital fine art pieces, designer rugs, and moving images for live events in her own unique style.

EDSKEA’s distinctive style is the result of a 25-year career as a motion-visual VJ artist. With each artwork, EDSKEA expresses feelings and experiences that are both autobiographical and universal. Creating art helps EDSKEA find inner harmony. EDSKEA hopes it will do the same for you.

EDSKEA wants to make her art accessible to everyone and has therefore made this series of 4 artworks available exclusively to the art lending library in a limited edition of 10.

EDSKEA began her artistic career after graduating from the Amsterdam and The Hague Art Academies with seven carpet designs, launching an exhibition of large-scale digital canvas prints at the Supperclub in Amsterdam. A meeting with a photographer at EDSKEA’s very first exhibition introduced her to the endless possibilities of digital art. EDSKEA’s unusual, vibrant, larger-than-life prints made an impression on Amsterdam’s influencers, including photographers, artists, musicians, and media personalities. One of them invited EDSKEA to be a “VJ”—creating moving visual art for a party at one of the city’s most famous clubs. Without even knowing what a VJ was, EDSKEA seized the opportunity and simply said yes. EDSKEA’s work as a digital visual artist has since taken her to: Miami, New York, USA; Kuala Lumpur, Asia; Paris; Cannes; FA Berlin; Dortmund; Krefeld, Germany; Guadalajara, Mexico; and Cape Town, South Africa. But EDSKEA’s artwork has also been exhibited at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Felix Meritis Foundation, the Wereldmuseum in Rotterdam, and the Museum of Modern Art in Den Bosch.
