Betty Jonker has been drawing and painting since she was a child. She began her artistic career as an art teacher.
She then spent 25 years as co-owner and creative director of an advertising consultancy, designing for national and international organizations.In 2001, she left the advertising world and shifted her focus to painting.
Betty Jonker’s work reveals a background rooted in extensive experience with composition and the use of color. With precise and powerful brushstrokes, she creates paintings characterized by a distinctively distinctive use of color. This results in cheerful impressions of abstracted, enlarged tulips, landscapes, people, and animals.
Betty Jonker exhibits both domestically and internationally. She has already participated in many domestic and international exhibitions, including in Amsterdam, Antwerp, Paris, Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Florence, Turin, Monaco, Mexico, and Vietnam. Betty is a co-founder of the Dutch Florence Biennale Artists and a jury member of the international selection committee for World Art Vision in Cancún, Mexico, and the Elephant Parade in Emmen.
