Maryanna de la Rambelje Roma Interior

Maryanna de la Rambelje is a visual artist who works in a colorful abstract style; she also creates figurative paintings, drawing inspiration from the expressionist style of Fauvism. She was born in The Hague and largely developed her passion for art at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.

Her creativity and passion for art were instilled in her from an early age at home, and her love for color and atmosphere is particularly evident in her paintings. This is reflected in the many colors she uses in works inspired by the seasons. The warmth of a color, the tones, transitions, and combinations of colors give her the drive every day to give shape to her creativity in her paintings. Her motto is: “The greatest challenge is to leave out the most recognizable elements—that is the art of abstraction.” A painting in pure abstract form turns a painting into a story without words.

The rich combinations of pigment, sand, pebbles, and other materials are thus evident in her paintings. She works layer upon layer, and each time the result is different. For her, every painting remains a challenge until the very end. To her, art is never finished—only abandoned. Maryanna’s paintings are powerful, playful, and above all, colorful.
