Jos van Beek

Jos van Beek has been working as a visual artist since 1973. Since moving to Sint Anthonis in 1986, his focus has shifted to painting, which has since undergone a tremendous deepening.

His work stands out for its bright, bold use of color, combined with a visible sense of optimism and joie de vivre. His themes are closely tied to ordinary daily life. Fragments of this are almost always found in his work—to a greater or lesser degree of recognizability, and whether or not stylized. Entirely abstract works are also part of his body of work.
