Hetty van der Linden

This artist travels all over the world and speaks every language imaginable: the internationally renowned Hetty van der Linden. Her work is represented in various collections—from Buenos Aires, New York, Paris, and Madrid to Croatia. She is a globetrotter who feels deeply committed to helping underprivileged children around the world. Hetty van der Linden uses her art to raise funds from the affluent West to support underprivileged children in the rest of the world. She visits these children all over the world and paints with them. These works are then sold, with the proceeds benefiting the children who created them. The goal is for these children to express their dreams and, through the proceeds, to be able to bring those dreams to fruition.

In addition to these children’s projects, Hetty van der Linden also creates a great deal of her own work, inspired in part by her many years living in Spain. Her work clearly shows Mediterranean influences. Her use of color is very striking, and the way the figures are arranged across the canvas gives it a particularly festive feel. Women in red dresses with bulls in the background are unmistakably of Spanish origin.

She has also collaborated on a number of major projects in the Netherlands. For example, she has created murals for the Public Services Department of the Municipality of Haarlem and for City Hall in Amstelveen.
