Beijn studied at the Royal Academy of Visual Arts and Dance in The Hague, in the Department of Fine Arts/Graphic Arts. In 1988, he collaborated on a mural project with Anneke van der Horst. In September 2000, three fellow visual artists founded the QuMix Foundation. Beijn is one of the founders of this foundation.
