Growing up at sea as a sailor’s daughter, her imagination and sense of fantasy were nourished by her childhood journeys. She would spend days gazing at the waves and clouds, never knowing where her next adventure would take her—to another city, another country. She studied painting at the art academy and began her career as an artist in Amsterdam. After receiving several scholarships from the Dutch Fund for Visual Arts, it was time to pack her bags in search of new adventures.
