Rob Scholte was born in Amsterdam on June 1, 1958. He lived successively in Castricum, Doorn, and Heiloo. He attended the Gerrit Rietveld Academy from 1977 to 1982 and subsequently became a member of the Warmoesstraat 139 artists’ collective. His studio was located on Laurierstraat, in the building that housed the private gallery The Livingroom until 1993.
